The Spoon Form
The spoon form is one I keep revisiting. The spoon form is essentially a projection and technological mimesis of a cupped hand. The spoon is both container suggesting inner worlds and the embodiment of gesture suggesting connection to the world outside our body. The conflation of fine porcelain with found plant material collected from the natural world becomes a referent to discourse of both the domestic cultured realm and the exterior natural world.
